Remote working cannot be avoided

In a tough economy where companies are reducing their workforce, businesses need to adopt remote working to help retain the rest of their skilled employees.

This is the view of experts who believe employers need to “think properly” about retaining workers due to the growing demand of staff wishing to work from home or with greater flexibility.

Businesses needed to develop mobile working as a part of their unified communications strategy, with younger staff being particularly demanding when it comes to mobile working.

Despite the multiple benefits, employers are still highly fearful of flexible working and unsure as to whether they can trust remote workers. However, it has been claimed this can be avoided by tackling the issue head-on and setting the right policies in place along with the right technology.

According to figures, the UK is ahead in mobile working, with 32 percent of firms allowing it to some degree, compared to 15 percent in Europe. But, 28 percent of British businesses still see mobility as “not important” or “not very important”.
