Flexible working appealing in IT careers

The British Computer Society (BCS) believes that remote and flexible working plays a part in making IT careers attractive to a wide variety of people.

The BCS states that flexible working arrangements are particularly important for women in the industry. BCS’s recent W-Tech event aimed to help women who want to return to IT or further develop their existing career.

Rebecca George, Chair of the BCS women’s forum, believes that the flexibility to work remotely has played a big part in women deciding to work in IT.

She adds that nowadays a lot of organisations give people more flexibility and autonomy in their job enabling them to work from home.
