Extra cash pledged for Digital Britain broadband vision

Chancellor Alistair Darling has outlined plans in his budget speech for additional government cash to help achieve nationwide broadband coverage across the UK.

The move will help remote workers who’ll be able to work effectively on the move or from any location. This will no doubt lead to a more efficient and productive workforce.

Chancellor Alistair Darling believes that it’s vital for Britain to seek the economic benefits from the digital age. The extra funding for digital investment is designed to help extend the broadband network to almost every community.

The measures will allow the government to deliver the vision set out in the Digital Britain Report, with the final version set to be presented in the summer.
