Flexible working tops benefits wish-list

Flexible working is the most valued benefit for employees, proving far more popular than material perks such as bonuses, according to a new survey carried out in the UK by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

PwC quizzed more than 1,000 professionals in the UK and found that flexible working arrangements were rated the most important benefit by almost half (47 per cent) of those questioned, with the second most popular benefit - performance-related bonuses - cited by just one in five (19 per cent).

The benefits of home working

Everyone knows home working supports a more flexible environment, ensures greater productivity and delivers financial savings in office space and travel costs, as well as being more environmentally friendly. But if this is the case then why aren’t more companies maximising its potential?

Home working is likely to become an integral part of business operations, with 78 per cent of staff stating they would prefer the ability to work from home, rather than a pay rise. It seems that offering home working could make good business sense for the business and its workforce.
