Flexible working rights can boost employee sentiment

HR departments may be able to improve employee morale by allowing more people to work flexibly.

According to research conducted by the Government Equalities Office, 53 per cent of working parents feel their job prevents them spending the amount of time they would like with their children.

McDonalds, Sainsbury’s and Asda implement flexible working policies for World Cup

As the World Cup comes to a head, some of the most prominent employers across the UK have implemented more flexible working regulations allowing staff to view World Cup matches.

During the four week tournament, fast food chain McDonalds has already said that eight out of 10 staff members have already opted to take advantage of the temporary working arrangements. Of the company’s 80,000 employees in the UK, a representative poll revealed that 84 per cent would be utilising the flexible working plan being offered to all staff.
